U.S. imperialism, out of its own doing, is relinquishing its hegemonic role in the global system of accumulation and governance. Its position as a hegemonic power was already fraying at the edges before Trump, but thanks to Trump and the coalition he leads, the process has been accelerated manyfold.
Hegemony turns on the art of skillful politics --- a reliable manager of the global system --- as well as the objective sources --- economic, military, etc. --- of power.
I'd like to hear more about this one. Like your view of hegemony. And how it ties in with Gramsci. If it does.
Is there, in your view, some value in hegemony, AKA dominance?
